Fonterutoli is a benchmark of Chianti Classico, still owned by today by the Mazzei family. It was one of their ancestors, Ser Lapo Mazzei, who was responsible for the first written mention of Chianti wine, in 1398! This Chianti Classico is serious, structured and complex, with lots of fine tannic structure and refined acidity. Be sure to let it breath for a couple of hours, to allow the classic aromas of violets, hazelnut and black cherry to develop. RKL
