100% Albariño grapes from higher altitude vineyards, providing low humidity, cooler temperatures, and a greater difference between day and night, leading to slower ripening. A very fresh Albariño with great aromatic intensity, acidity and smoothness on the palate. The aromas of this vintage 2023 are intense but delicate, with nuances of ripe citrus fruit - lime and lemon aromas - accompanied by notes of white fruits, Golden Delicious apples, ending with a gentle hint of aromatic herbs and banana. It shows a very nice level of acidity and a remarkable creaminess. Pair with shellfish, oysters, clams and crab, or with spicy Asian foods.
The Albariño grapes used for Abadía de San Campio 2023 were harvested on 7 and 8 September. This early harvest had been brought on by a warm season with high relative humidity. August began with a notable increase in temperatures which maintained the advanced vegetative growth of the vines and the early ripening of the grapes.
