From a walled vineyard in Bouzeron, owned entirely by the Borgeots, hence this is a monopole for the domaine. 20% aged in oak, 10% of it new. The fruit from Clos Carbonade is very ripe, matching the oak, with aromas flinty minerality, pear, apple and even some coconut (perhaps from the new oak). It's weightier than the Chardonnay, finishing with a tang of salinity on the palate. RKL
