Antonio Camillo is a highly respected vineyard manager who worked at several well-known names in Tuscany, before turning his focus to his own small vineyard, producing some remarkably high quality wines at extremely modest prices. This Morellino is from Sangiovese, but in the style of the region (and unlike most wines from neighbouring Chianti) this is aged simply, for 5 months in vats. The fruit is the focus here, with lots of vibrant dark cherry and enough tannin and fresh acidity to balance the wine. RKL
