Les Carlins is a lieu-dit rather than a premier cru, but you would not know it, based on the very fine, flinty intensity and long finish this has on the palate. The Desfontaine's non-interventionist approach to winemaking really allows the terroir to shine through here, resulting in a very taut, exciting white burgundy. RKL
